Terrance Brennan and the World's Largest Fondue
Though the fondue set we received is quite large, it is not, to be sure, the world's largest. Tomorrow, on the Today Show, chef Terrance Brennan of Artisanal Fromagerie & Bistro will be establishing the record for the World's Largest Fondue. I wonder exactly how big it'll be? I mean, how big was the previous record-holder? Has anyone ever even done this before, or does the World's Largest Fondue only have to be slightly bigger than Your Average Fondue? In any case, who better to create the World's Largest Fondue than Chef Brennan, whose Artisanal Fromagerie & Bistro offers an amazing array of incredible fondues and dipping accoutrements. The cheese will be donated by Wisconsin's Roth Kase, and the finished fondue will be donated to City Harvest, a charity that brings excess food from restaurants, markets, hotels, etc. to the hungry. In addition, for the entire month of March, 20% of all proceeds of fondue and all fondue related products at both Artisanal Fromagerie & Bistro and Artisanal Premium Cheese will be donated to Share our Strength, a national nonprofit organization that inspires and organizes individuals and businesses to share their strengths to help end childhood hunger. UPDATE: The fondue used 2100 pounds of Gruyère cheese. That's a ton of cheese, literally! Here's a link to the video of the event, and below are some AP photos of the madness:
